Waiting for a database query to complete so I start surfing...wouldn't ya know I started looking up Jetta stuff without even thinking! ...sigh... Well, for those interested in pop outs here's a *European* place that has them for the Type 1: http://www.germancarcompany.co.uk/monthlies.htm#popouts Yeah, it's T1 but Dark Siders or a clever Luke (stock-type person :) may be able to make it work for a T3, like the Fasty. They also can send a free catalog (the best kind!) so I ordered one to check out what they can offer. If you scroll down to the bottom you'll see a bump-steer kit...very interesting! I am familiar with bump steer because this happens to a lowered Porsche and it's easily fixed. But these dudes are doing the same thing for the air-cooled VW! Speaking of interesting, I'm not sure what I think about this 'new' car o' mine. A VR6 would easily fit in the engine bay and I think I could improve the suspension for spirited handling...but I gotta save money and leave it stock. Maybe it's the replaced puppy syndrome -- a little kid has a dog (or other animal) and it suddenly dies so you go buy the child a puppy as a replacement but the child knows and doesn't like the new pet. It's not the same; you can't replace a love. I did notice while removing the dealer badge that the VW badge on the trunk reads "Jetta III" so maybe she ain't so bad after all...
