Timing at TDC, both vac and mech advance working properly? Warm idle
set to ~900?

An occasional flicker or dim glow is considered "normal." Has anyone
ever replaced the vacuum modulator on the AT. If so, and if they did
not adjust it, then this could cause abnormal drag at idle. See
Bentley.

The throttle valve switch might be out of adjustment, or busted or
worn out.

Always a good thing to check.

Probably fine.

Not unless you're adding a quart of oil every 50 miles ;-)

Depends on whether it makes a good seal or not. Very small leaks
only at the intake air distributor end will not have any effect.
