Are you implying that we have a mandantory group philosophy??? That scares me.... I would tend to trace this back a trifle farther that the internet (although they were both around in the 60s). But to some extent I would go along with your idea - that whole VW mentality is traditionally not for profit. The internet has a old and crumbling tradition of free intellectual property- something that has ALWAYS been free and not for profit on the list too. (Of course, if Jim wanted to start charging a penny per answer, I would pay him...) But the day VW parts and such are run on a not for profit is the day I stop paying $700 dollars for Ill-fitting rubber. -rj > -----Original Message----- > From: Nathan Jacobsen [SMTP:jacobsen@foxinternet.net] > Sent: Thursday, August 27, 1998 1:07 PM > To: type3@vwtype3.org > Subject: Re: [T3] Stuff > > From what I've seen of this T3 forum, the members have promoted an > unspoken > not-for-profit philosophy that goes back to the early days of the > internet. > Perhaps the forum moderator would like to develop a policy to let > people > know when they join if this is indeed what is expected. > > Nathan Jacobsen > jacobsen@foxinternet.net > > ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
