Well to be honest it doesn't seem to actually be back firing just blowing air up through the carb Here is what happened I put my engine in and squished some push rod tubes. As the mechanic was giving it a tune up my car started to leak, yep hole in a tube. I pulled each head separately and replaced the push rod tubes and out it back to together. Now that it is all together the side of the engine that is acting up is the side leaking ( go figure) I checked the valve train it all looks fine I know it needs to be readjusted. there is no explosion through the carb but it is blowing air through the carb.
