Hi all Why is it that as soon as you feel you fixed the damn problem another one creeps up on you???????????? My NEW problems is that I drove the car for +- 300 mile with not a hitch, then one afternoon she started swallowing. With my gauge not working I added 10 L fuel, but the problem persisted. Thinking that my fuel pump is shot I added a auxiliary pump to push from the tank, with no success. The symptoms are as follows: In order to get the car to run I have to play with the fuel pedal (floor it and back up approx. twice a second) and then she only picks up revs when I let go of the pedal. If she does idle and I give a little gas there is a bad hesitation where she almost dies before she increases in RPM. With the revs up if I try to drive there is no power and she dies, gargling (A technical term for those that don't know :-D ). I still have the original solex carbs and air filter (I did remove it to make sure it was not the filter causing the prob.) Does any one know the correct resistance for the little wire in the fuel gauge as mine broke so I re-soldered the longest end back on (+- 2 mm shorter) but now it obviously reads the wrong value.(empty is just below 1/2) As always, Thanx for all the replies Carl van Tonder ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
