I'd have to disagree with you on that one. I think all the VW places have
009 stuff but when my '65 Squareback w/009 ate a brand new set of points
after 40 miles and I didn't have another set, I ended up walking uphill,
in the rain, in a T-shirt, to the next highway off-ramp to a local
Kragen/Checker/Schucks. Okay, I exaggerate, I hitched the last 1/2 mile.
(Don't do it, kiddies!) Since I was real dumb and didn't bring the points
with me, they didn't know what the heck a '009' was and couldn't find
anything in their computer. They had a shelf full of points and a nice
clear listing in their computer for the stock '66 stuff, though.

I ended up guessing at what they looked like and luckily I guessed close
enough to cruise the 20 miles back home. My normal FLAPS was nice enough
to give me a free set of 009 points in exchange.

Nice sob story, eh?

Basically, it doesn't matter if you can find it easy or not, just carry an
extra set of everything with you at all times.
