Volks, Thanks for the dizzy clamp input. Guess I need to get my hands on a Type III one. I installed the secondary oil cooler on my baby and I learned that you MUST use Teflon tape on all fittings, no matter how tight you may think you have them, or else you'll have all these expensive, synthetic oil puddles in your garage after the test drive :) Now if I could only put Teflon tape around the rest of my engine... Chris, I read your note on the oil pumps (buy Berg). I'm thinking that I may need to refurbish my oil pump. It is stock but maybe it's worn so I don't quite get the pressure I should. I dunno. Yep, it does work. When I park the car in the morning the oil light is on. This morning it didn't even flicker -- woo hoo! However, it's not perfect. During the day the oil pressure didn't hit the red zone (oil light) often but I would still have low oil situations. Next modification is to install a blower to push air through during standstill moments, maybe this will help. The Type IV cooler is too big; I need a Type III so I'll have more clearance between it and the road. My fittings and oil lines are 1/2-inch so there isn't much restriction but I have several 90-degree fittings and I think that contributes to restricting the oil and lowering the pressure. This is on top of the restrictions of the free flow installed. I'll post pictures later. Well, it's been a long weekend. Went to the LowRiders car show in the convention center and, well, it's not a VW show but I had fun anyway. Some fantastic and expensive paint jobs and cars there! My friends Eclipse won 3rd place, which is very cool since it's his first show. You don't have to have hydraulics to be a low rider -- some of you with 3 or 4 notch drops would qualify! Always keep an open mind... I still have over 90 messages from you monkeys to wade through and my manager is back from vacation so I gotta go.
