The red band on my (twin carb) cleaner is on the vertical face of the inner 'shelf', but I'm not sure where it is on the FI one. I don't think it's that critical. The owner's handbook says 0.40 litres (= 14 fluid ozs, 0.7 pt Imperial; 0.9 pt US) for the 1600, and 0.25 litre (= 9 fluid ozs, 0.44 pt Imperial, 0.55 pt US) for the 1500. Where is it? Yeah, this is poorly documented. I have never seen anything that gave a really good explanation, but I have always filled to the top of the "step" that goes around the outer lower corner.
