A funny thing happened the other day whiel synchronizing my dual solex carbs. I have already rebuilt them. I adjusted the rpm to around 750 which is where this engine likes to be (there differing opinions on this). I adjusted the mixture screw ont he left side by screwing it in then backing it out until I reached the highest RPM's, then a little more. Then I did the same on the other side. This is where the funny part is. The rpm increased as I screwed IN the mixture screw. They dropped off as I backed it out. This is completely backwards as I have ever understood it. I checked to make sure I had no vacuum leaks. What I ended up doing is backing out the mixture screw enough to minimize a shaking I was having when cruising at part open throttle, around 1500-2000 rpm. It still shakes some. Any ideas out there?
