If they are single barrel Webers than they are probably ICTs. They were
made by Weber just for the Type 3s.

Motorcycles (crotch rockets) use a vacuum/mercury guage that hooks up to a
vacuum port on each carb that was put there just to adjust them with.
Vacuum ports on automotive carbs (including Webers) are for supplying
vacuum to things like dizzys and brake boosters. The most accurate way to
sync them is to measure the airflow thru the carbs. A Unisys is a vacuum
sync and thats what I have. There are a couple of other brands but they are
about twice as much. I've used the more expensive ones and the only
difference is they are a little more accurate, but with only 2 or 4
barrells to sync its not worth the effort. If you're running 4 IDAs on a V8
then the more expensive ones are needed because the more barrells the more
sensitive they are. Every VW guy I know uses a Unisys even the ones with
Webered V8s.

Marty
