The important thing is that the holes in your pump match, and line up
with, the holes in your case. It is possible that you do not have
the original case in your 69, so you may not want a "69" pump.

So at least the pump in your car is not the original. This is no
surprise, but you should not assume that it is correct.

You need to make sure that the nose of the pump body will not rub or
interfere with the face of the cam.

If everything else about the pump is okay, then you can press the
shaft out of the driven gear slightly so that it engages with the cam
enough. It is only a press fit. You do NOT want TOO MUCH
engagement, that could lead to excessive end force against the pump
cover. Measure everything carefully.

Sounds like that pump is pretty new.

Again, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that the pump match the case!!!

Since only the body ever really wears, there is really no reason to
do this.
