So far I haven't seen any ads for replacement rubber that I need when
I reinstall my rear fenders on my '63 Square. You know the stuff that goes
along the wheel curve and also in a loop around the area where the air
slits come into contact with the body? Well, mine are tattered--so if they
don't make 'em anymore what can I use instead?
Update on project--thanks to all of you who gave me encouragement!!!
It really, really helped. I knew I could count on this group for some
great tips and some stuff that just made me laugh outloud (and blush,
too!).
With new appreciation for my car, I went out and sanded all the rust
off the roof, hood, and fenders, and put on the metal conditioner and a
coat of Dp primer with the Croix HVLP system my dad has. I must say, it
looks pretty good! Since I want to do the best job I can with still doing
it myself, any expert painters out there: feel free to throw ideas,
stories, advice my way.
