Re: How can I run on unleaded.

If the heads are iron then you need leaded. However, chances are good that
your engine has been rebuilt and aluminum heads were the replacement. This
being the case you can use unleaded.

You can't make adjustments since the lead in the fuel was used to increase the
octane of the fuel and as a lubricant/cushion for the valves. I don't
remember
the exact date as I don't have my books with me but I think VWs were able
to use
unleaded fuel since '68. If anyone can confirm this it'd be apprec. otherwise
I'll check me G. Berg books.

--Hi guys (and gals).
I am a little new to the VW scene, and I was wondering how I could
get my T3 to run on unleaded (1967 dual carb 1600). Do i have to change
valves, or can I just adjust them, or any additonal mods to get it to run
on unleaded. Also, does anyone know what the front floor vents are
supposed to look like? Mine are all rusted to heck and I cant figure out
what they should look like.
