Yep, on my '72 ya just grab the neck and pull towards the rear cargo area
(pull backwards).

You just have to hit it and it will come off (popp off, not break).
This is no joke,
it is a safety device once somebody comes flying through your
front window.
I think the early models have two visible screws but 67 is probably
not early enough.
