My lease basically said the same thing but I still perform work on my car 
(within reason).  I work quickly, try to be very, very quiet and make sure 
I can complete what I start.  I haven't been busted yet and my work area is 
basically in view of the manager's office.  I'm pretty friendly with the 
managers so maybe that helps (and flirting with them, since they're all 
female, probably doesn't hurt either :)

I don't know (for your state) if the landlord can legally perform such an 
action (investigation time, also look at your contract).

You may be able to get away with simple stuff, like brake pad/shoe changes 
and oil changes since they're quick and not messy (don't spill the oil!).  
Try the street as that is city property.  I changed my Porsche muffler on 
the street (it's not a busy one, it's a side street) and no one could 
complain.
Sorry to hear.  Hope you can make a deal or find a way around it.

Damnit Damnit Son of a Bi...rd

Because others have abused the privelage, my lanlord has been forced to
ammend the lease on the small complex that I am renting to read "no work
of any kind on motor vehicles may be performed on property including, but
not limited to, all garage and parking areas".

This means I can't do anything on Maggie myself.. what I drag.  I can't
afford to pay shop prices of $50.00 on top of all the materials I will
need.  What makes matters worse, I still have 9 months left on my lease.

Way to make my fahrgen day.  How am I suppose to get Maggie for the coast
to coast trip I want to do next year?  farq!
