Check to make sure you're in tune. Adjust the valves. Make sure the
vacuum and mech advances both work and the timing is right. Check
the voltage regulator to make sure it is regulating at 14.1 -14.4 V
at medium rpm.
Fix any gas leaks. Replace the fuel filler overflow hose if it is
cracked.
Don't do lots of short trips.
