Its a full circle unit. (DONT BUY EQUUS... after 4 bad servos' I gave up) Gets its signal from the points, not mag pickups which of course are really not necessary. It will work with carbs but your on your own to design a linkage. If interested I can provide the correct code for this setup, it took some effort to figure it out as they dont list our cars! 2 down parts.. well... 3 1) the unit should really have a clutch switch which means making a bracket not a big deal 2) if your brake light wires go intermittant from all the corrosion down on the master cyl then you cant kick it off.. you need to use the switch. 3) if your tranny is old and pops out of 4th the rev limiter MIGHT not be quick enough to save from damage if your engine is already turning at 3500. And NO the NOS rev-limiting rotors I have for the late bugs and busses wont fit our distributors. with this in mind I still have enjoyed the hell out of mine and has turned my square into the Long-distance car. keith
