As I 've said here before, I pretty much agree. The one real
advantage of most of the good electronic ignitions is their low
maintenance requirement.
I have used CD ignitions for decades with very good luck, and I like
the fact that I never have to replace the points even though the
points are there and are used. I like the fact that my timing never
drifts and needs to be readjusted.
I believe I mentioned here last summer that I had just installed one
of the new electronic ignitions on a customer's car and it was nice
except that you had to use their special modified rotor (because of
the tight space in the T3 dist) and the magnets in the rotor weren't
well spaced--one of the cylinders was off by maybe 5 degrees.
