I ship Antique radios all the time, even the Floor models, UPS ground. There are a few tricks... Front T3 fendrs and decklids ARE shippable, you have to do ALOT of calling around and find someone who is willing to go a little out of their way to pack it. MBE is what I use and yes some locations will tell you "absolutely impossible" but I finally found one that had no problems with it so long as he could use 'X' amount of packing material and still get under the limit. they will insure it too. Unfortunately they add 40% onto the UPS charge but hey.. I'll tell the customer the charges up front and its up to him weather its worth it. If you consider body shop labor to resurrect a rusty one spending $200 on a panel is resonable and you end up with a better, longer lasting end result.
