Front seat removal

I know I asked this question before and received an answer, but I can't find it
anymore.  I need to remove the two front seats from our '71 Squareback to
recover them and install the rear carpet kit.  The passengers seat is stuck in
place, but the driver's moves back and forth.  How do you remove the seats???
