  REGARDING           filter and pump

T-3 Lover:
I have purchase a part car (1969 FastBack) and I found under the gas tank  what
look like a inline filter that appear to be attached to a electrical pump. 
Question is this a standard  items ?  The part car has a 1776 engine with karon
carb and what look like a electric fuel pump. The guy that sold me the car
didn't know much about the history other than it was his brother car.  Where and
what do the F1 look like ?
