Hi Randy- I hate to break it to you, but there are/were a heckuva lot of white squarebacks in LA, including mine, which also got soggy in the 1982 storms. (see pict for comparisson at Greg's site http://www-personal.umich.edu/~gregm/T3/scrapbook/goob/ ). I'm almost positive it *wasn't* mine that's pictured in the CNN photo, because as I remember mine got flooded out right in front of my house, and most of the water came in from under the dashboard after dumps of leaves clogged the drain hoses.... :) As for the CNN photo, it could also have been my neighbor and high school buddy Josh Firestone's car (whose parents bought their new, white 1968 squareback two weeks after my parents scored theirs, the copy cats ;) or one of the countless others I used to spot while delivering pizza and alcohol in The Val and West LA. Too bad the plate isn't showing!!!!!!!!! cheers, Dave Y.
