As I am assembleing my Notch I'll pass along the pitfalls and solutions so I can save people some time and expense when doing theirs! 1) Short beak installation, if you have no seal mount it on grommets, it works very well and looks professional. 2)wipers can be converted to 12V using a 69 wiper motor with the original 65 shaft mounted on it and using a 69 Switch. You can mount the ivory knobs by cutting the pushbutton shaft to correct length and using a spacer for the outer knob. 3)WCM Repro door seals had to be cut!!!!! At $100 a pop I shouldn't have to cut to fit!!! but the rear door length was too long. in general their shape was very good but the fit was loose and I didn't have the balls to make more than 1 cut in them. 4) trunk and rear deck seals. The extruded ones from WCM suck! OK theyre better than tattered and the price is right but they look crappy around the bends and the one on my Square has never sealed properly because the top seal lip wont stand up tall enough. The way they tie them up for shipping leaves what may be permanent wrinkles in them! when you get yours cut the ties right away, dont store them that way. 5)Body side mmoulding set... a sore point... The look and fit of the side moulding was Excllent! the rocker peices, for whatever reason, were not anodized or polished and looked like crap! not to mention they were aluminum and not the orig Stainless. my sore point? when I ordered they told me that only the kit without the side markers was avail. So I ordered it and moved the lights above the belt line as on the early (pre 64) cars, not the look I wanted but it solved the problem. WELL.. last night I was putting it on and WALLA The front peices were too short, they were for the markers! AAARRRGGG HHH... Well Im calling WCM for exchange and I'll let you know how it goes. Also the outer hole seals require different plugs than the interior ones do. 6)When assembling your car, note all the provisions VW used to keep our cars quiet. Foam seal under the fuel tank, Rubber gasket around the spare wheel well, rubber sleve on the insert for the interior pedal covers. Lots of little things that make it worth while carefully inspecting an unrestored well-preserved original car at a show. OOOH .... finger cramp More as I proceed. keith
