By "blown" I assume you mean that they have gone open. I have never
seen them do this, but it is possible. It is easy to verify. Just
remove all the wires from the two generator connections and use an
ohmmeter to measure the resistance between the two. It is normally a
few ohms. If it reads infinity, then they are "blown."
If you find that they are indeed open, then chances are that the
break is visible inside the brush end of the generator. It might be
easy to fix.
