Re: Windshield rubber

JimA=> I would love to hear from anyone who has found a really slick way
=> to reinstall the trim around the windows.

FWIW, I have a copy of VW's Bulletin 235 180 20 9 63, illustrating
windshield removal and replacement for the T34. On the off chance that
you don't have a similar reference, and particularly for anyone else
facing this problem, here's what VW recommended:

1. Check condition of weatherstrip and renew if necessary.
2. Place weatherstrip over edge of windshield.
3. Press lower trim moulding half and the side sleeves into
   the weatherstrip.
4. Slide upper trim moulding half into sleeves on lower half
   and press moulding into weatherstrip.
5. Push upper sleeve over ends of upper moulding half.

Then it goes into putting a wire around the glass groove, etc. This is a
bit cryptic, but the bottom line I think is to bend the rubber, not the
trim. I wish I'd had this before I started dismantling mine ....
