The only problem is that we must first try to tell the difference
between those products that are truly useful and those which are
designed solely to line the pockets of their marketers. It is very
hard to tell the difference.

Note that that adage and the other one, "A stitch in time saves
nine," tend to run counter to each other. My father once tried to
excuse his not taking his Datsun in to the shop to get the valves
adjusted by saying the former. Not one of his better moments.
