Yesterday I finally finished re-doing the front seats in our '71 Squareback. I had bought the seat kits about a year ago and also bought some 4" thick foam and hog rings and pliers. I had to slice the foam to only 2" thick and never had to use the hog rings. I think the second seat took me less than 1 hour to complete. After driving around sitting on 25+ year old horsehair and springs, the new foam padding feels like a couch! The back seat is still original, but there are not rips in the fabric so I will not be re-doing it for now. Besides, it gets less use (and weight) since only the kids (6 and 8 yeard old) use it.
