Hi Keith, hmmm... I've never rebuilt one! Suppose I should learn how... though, since my wife depends on the car daily to get to work, I'd kind of rather swap the whole thing out to make a quick job of it rather than "learn on the job" under time pressure. I don't know *precisely* what's wrong. I *do* know that just about all the other brake components *should* be good, as I've replaced virtually everything except the metal lines & one rubber hose in the last 0-2.5 years. My impression is that one of the circuits has partially failed in some way. When I push the pedal, there is this weird intermediate zone of semi-resistance, then the pedal gets *hard* before hitting the floor. To brake quickly, a *lot* of force is required--way too much. Any ideas? This too vague? I'm going to forward this to the list for more suggestions... -Greg '71 squarback '63 Beetle On Wed, 21 May 1997, Keith Park wrote: > I can get genuine ATE rebuild kits...
