Does anyone know for sure how much difference it makes in oil pressure/flow characteristics if you use an early, small-hole cooler on a late dual-relief case? All I've found in the scrap yards is the older coolers, most in non-salvageable condition. My current engine uses a new universal case, which, of course, has the larger cooler holes(also larger mounting stud}. It would seem to me that there would be a greater pressure drop across the older cooler with maybe lesser flow through it and corresponding higher engine temps. Anybody done any studies between the two types?
