hullo all, lets see , ive got lots to cover.. ok, first of all regarding the 4-5 lug conversion, i personally wouldnt do it. i have a 64 notch with 5 lug wide pattern and its a bitch to try to find wheel cylinders for the front drums.. because of this im gonna have to convert over to discs in the front and as you all know there are no wide 5's to be found for less than $500 a pair.. so my intensions are to convert over to a 4 lug disc in the front from a later model sguare, and my plans for the back are to go with 914 discs. if you have any ?? just reply and ill give what info about the conversion i know... ok. now about motors.. right now ive got a 1600 with stock 32 solexs.. what i want to do is drop a 2.0 914 motor in..i was told by a porsche mechanic that it will fit with minor mods to make the carbs fit.. what do you think? should i try to find a different powerplant? next.... my notch is a 64 sunroof that was butchered by the previous owner for a make shift rag top...now im sick of the rag top and i think that the dude still has the orig sunroof..think i should have it welded back in or is this a bad idea being the original supports were cut out? also im looking for rear gravel guards cause i dont like mud flaps..any ideas where to find em? thats it..... sacramento california tom vette 64 notchbach 82 rabbit conv
