1 thing I'll addto Toby's list:

If the front end has been neglected (not lubed often) the inner bushings
on at least the lower arms will be shot.  If they be bad enough it will take the
bearings out too.  If the beam is rusted through under the clamps the water will
get in and ruin the bearings too.  this will all cause looseness and a poor alignment.,
