Sorry that the answer is so elusive. I drove the vehicle for three or four years with Bernie Bergman's hydraulics...no problem...then cracked and replaced a head...and zilch...nada...the big goose egg...crapola... The hydraulic engine, after I replaced the head, would search for idle, skipping up and down by as much as three hundred rpms. And it would backfire thru both carbs. Very rude! Oh well, I can always grow new eyebrows... Everything I did in replacing the head was routine to me... so I am trying to think of the ONE rotten thing that was causing my problems... That same head, which wouldn't work on the hydraulics, is now humming along fine in the old engine which I installed in the car. I want to go back in with that hydraulics engine some day, but need to figger out what to do different before that happens. Ideas? Anyone? P-l-e-a-s-e save a very confused librarian.
