Hi Al,

Both the earlier and later Brasilia had the engine in the back. The design
originates
from a german protoyp from '1959/60) for the VW 1500. The engine wasbuild up
with the 1600's
cyilinder and 1500 carb. So the simularity with the type 3 and later the 412
is obvious. 
It's not as they are twins but close relatives.
