And I thought I was nuts about type 3's....

I made the mistake of subscribing to this list from work while waiting
for my new motherboard installation at home. Well, two weeks later I log on at
home and I've got 372 messages! It took me 4 nights to catch up. Ya'll is
nuts. I love it.
I found a couple discussions relevant to my own project "Phillip" ('66
Squareback). I too have a weird headlight problem that was mentioned by
someone. Turn on the parking lights and all's well, but when you go for the
headlights: no dice. The front parking lights go off, but the high beams still
work. Indeed, as mentioned, the new (used) switch I bought did not help this
problem. Do the headlights share a ground with the parking lights? If so, why
do the damn high-beams work! The tailights still work too. Not helping matters
is the fact that my very unmessed-with-looking-stock wiring does not match the
wiring for '66 in my "Clymer" manual.
Finally, somone mentioned that the early year windshields are a little
bit bigger than later years. If I buy a new windshield that's smaller, will I
need to get any special seal?
