RE: Synthetic Oil for type 3

breifly.. with the synthetic..  engine temp went for the redline as soon as I got on the highway, backed off, oil press was very low.  Air flaps were open and
everything was in proper order.  when I switched back to the dino oil everything
was OK again except the knock from the whipped bearings on startup and I lost 
about 8 lbs oil press.

conclusion: 1) oil WOULD NOT transfer heat!  maybe they've fixed that since '89
but ???

2) the superior cleansing ability of synthetic loosened all the neatly stored
sludge and stuff and kept circulating it through the engine because there no
 filter to filter it out.



DONT RUN SYNTHETIC WITHOUT AN OIL FILTER!!!!
