How did you come to the conclusion that the oil was the culprit? I used it in my beetle without trouble and use it in my notchback and things are good. I have read that you shouldn't use synthetic it a new or newly rebuilt engine because it lubricates so well that the rings and such will not seat properly. However it sounds like yours was past the break in. Has anyone else been told this?
