Thanks for answering my plea for HELP about the oil leak on my T-III SQB. 



  When I rebuilt the engine I went all stock.  I did not split the case
however.  I took my case to Andy's VW here in Panama City FL.  Andy is a well
Know VW mech. and parts dealer in this area.  He used to race VW's in the
past until his health got in the way.  He checked my case, crank, and cam as
best he could without taking it apart.  There was no end play in the crank,
or any other problems forseen at that time.  As far as we could tell, there
were no cracks in the case.  I know this is hard to do just by feel and
sight, but I was out of funds at the time.  As for the oil return grove, I
did clean it out and it is clear.  Is it a possible the oil pump area is
warped?  If so can it be milled flat agian.  I have replaced the oil pump and
cover plate.  I took it off twice to check it for any problems.
I did put a beed of RTV silicon on to try to seal the leak, this did not stop
the leak.  I still beleave it is coming from the fan pully area.
