Today the UPS man brought my new fiberglass front fenders and floor pans for both sides. They look really sturdy! I'm Leah Wegener, 33, from Tacoma,WA (near Seattle) and my husband Dave and I have an Airedale terrier named Pippa who has grown up riding in our '63 Sb. No kids, yet. Besides getting my car back on the road I now have a job at a title insurance company which is a real yawn but, hey, I need the money. I'm an Art major though, so today I color coded the microfilm boxes! Dave teaches high school Art in Tumwater which is near Olympia. I've done a lot of bike riding: rode across America in '84 with my brother, rode down the West Coast twice, and rode around in Colorado where we crossed the Continental Divide 5 times! I am also starting to sell my hand made and painted wood chests and toys and am building a willow arbor for fun and profit. Maybe since I am working now, Dave will take over the rustoration project. Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep people from RIPPING OFF my tail lights and turn signal lights? It has happened a couple of times and they are expensive! I thought about epoxying them but then how would I get them off if I needed to? What kind of a person would prey on an innocent VW? Next time I park it in Seattle I will leave my alarm system ( our Airedale ) in the car! Well, wish us luck putting in our NEW PANS AND FENDERS (even if they are only fiberglass).
