I'm Mike Jones, engineer by training, currently a manufacturing leader with GE Motors and Industrial Systems in Fort Wayne, IN. I have a lovely wife (Billi) and a 4 month old daughter (Cariana). I am always amazed at the number of engineers and technicians attracted to old VW's. My boss (also an engineer) has a perfectly restored '67 sunroof bug! As far as cars, I'm pretty much air-cooled all the way. I drive a '67 square in the winter (gas heater) and a 914 in the summer. I also own a basket case '64 notch and a '63 vert. I have 3 generations of VW buses, several more 914's, and 30x50 barn to help hold everything. I broke down and bought my wife a '91 Passat (only because it was cheap...it had a blown engine which I replaced) and she also has an '84 Chevy school bus to haul equipment for her oldies rock band (Nostalgia). She puts up with my hobby and even goes to swap meets with me...she's sharp and has learned about most of the parts I need and what they are worth (she's an accountant by training). I admire all air-cooled VW's by design and I'm not a purist....in fact, I'm currently working putting a type 4 motor in my square! Mike
