ok lets see....my name is tommy vette, im 20 living in sacramento. i work as a shift lead in a silicon company which produces numorous silicon products for semiconductors, transisters,switches,etc..i currently dont go to school but am signed for fall classes at a local ju.co. i always knew about vw's but i never knew about all the different makes and models and how far they went back.. i ve owned a few cars since ive been driving, the first of which was a datsun 260 z, which was hostily abandoned for a 89 crx. thats life was short lived when after only 6 months it was hit by a diesel in the midst of a early morning road race..after that, i decided to try german, i purchased a 87 16v scirocco for $2500 and put about 2k worth the modifications to it, including rims, lowered stance, stereo, carbon fiber pedals, aluminum shoft knob, stromung exhaust system etc... the scirocco was a fun car and i decided to go buy a 82 rabbit convertable.. since i was into vws i decided to buy a subscription to vw trends, which turned me on to air cooled vws. i dont really dig type 1's that much but type 2 and 3 do something for me.. so when i saw a 64 notch in the paper for $3500 and i was really getting bored with my scirocco, i said what the hell.. so i called the dude and asked if he wanted to trade straight across.. whaddayouknow? now im driving a 64 notchback.. the 82 rabbit didnt last much longer than the scirocco, only 8 months, but im still the owner of a water pumper, but a new water pumper, a 97 jetta gt..the notch is a great car and i dont plan on selling it in the near or distant future..well thats about it, and in a few days or weeks ill have a pic of my notch for whoever would like to see.. tommy vette
