LiliE=> What will minor body work run me? How difficult is it to do myself? What it would cost depends hugely on specifically what and where. A dent in the hood is fairly easy; the same dent in a rear quarter can be a lot harder. Doing body work yourself is not particularly difficult, but requires touch and practice to keep from doing more damage than you fix. You'll need to invest in some reasonably good body tools and a torch rig, then get hold of some junk sheetmetal and practice. => How much should I expect to spend on a decent paint job? What exactly does "decent" mean to you? Enough to just cover the metal? Paint that looks smooth from six feet, no obvious runs or bubbles? From two feet? Are you OK with orange peel, or will you need finish sanding? What color and paint quality? Take the car to a few painters in your area, and look hard at their results on other cars. Your mileage *will* vary. => I've heard that Mexico is a good place to get cheap work done- is => this true? Sure, but you still get what you pay for. Cheap body work, cheap paint, cheap painters, a short life for the job, and high risk of getting ripped off. Steven Ayres, Prescott AZ '66 & '64 T3 Ghias comwest@well.com
