The hose is used in older (uhgh) American cars. You can generally see it
go from under the snout on the air intake to one of the exhaust headers (in
American cars). I just was wandering the local auto parts store, searching
for *something* to help me. I came across this neat item and, with some
custom adapters quickly made at a muffler shop, attached the hose up and
haven't replaced them for over four years (this is much better than my
previous every six months).
The biggest inside diameter that I found isn't big enough to slip over the
fan housing and exchanger ports so I had some adapters made at a muffler
shop. Since I haven't looked for replacements in such a long time maybe
they make bigger diameter hose now, I don't know.
The preheat hose is dark gray/black and it looks sorta like it's made of
cardboard. The material is just reinforced with fiberglass so it lasts
much longer.

Toby E - You mentioned that you use Fiberglass Impregnated Preheat Hose for
your fresh air hose - just what the heck is that and where should I look for
it?
Thanks - Wilson
