Subject: Smog Hell amended.

Fellow air-breathers,
I just got more specific advice about the '72 Squareback I'm having
trouble smogging.

	Idle RPM test:
CO should be under 5 but is 7.22
HC - PPM should be under 0550 but is 0776

	Anybody have any suggestions?

Not sure how much help this is but you are running too rich. Is this FI or Carbs? If FI make sure that your voltage at the battery at fast
idle is at least 14.1 to 14.4 volts (use only Bosch voltage regulators), the pressure regulator is set at 32 psi, and the throttle position
switch is adjusted correctly. Other things to try but more difficult to test, is leaking injectors or try swapping pressure sensors. If this is
Carbs, I have no idea since the only carburated things I own are a lawnmower and a weedwacker.
