I realize that I like the challenge of a custom ride but this conversion sounds like too much trouble -- is it really worth it? I guess if you're going to *totally* redo the car (pan off and all that) it wouldn't be much hassle, but sheeesh! It is possible to get a 12v generator the same size as a 6v, so that you do not have to change the fan housing. Try Bill & Steve. Change the coil. Change the chokes. Change the idle cut-off solenoids.
