It just peaks out from underneath the sheet tin next to the oil pressure sensor and stops at the seam on the end. It is only found where is is useful. Yes, no washers on engines that have 10 mm holes in the case and/or the cooler. I believe the Bentley manual has a bit of trouble with this one, too.
