Bill, The man was no fool. You indeed have a rare option that almost no one has even seen. That's why all of the speculation over whether or not they exist is going on, on this list. I recommend you don't even think about customizing this square!!! Restore it to original!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!! !!!!! !!!!! N N OOO CCCC U U SSS TTTTT !!!!! You will have to remove the interior panels to get access to the bolts for the rears but that's about as hard as it gets. I hear they are bolt on and its a piece of cake. I've also been reading a lot about red dashes, I have one and underneath it has a VW symbol witch I THINK is proof. The last thing I was wondering about was the fact that I have red reclining seats that are original. The same person that told me about the fenders also said that the only way those were available in '66 was through a VW dealer and I should take good care of them because I'm one of the fortunate few. Is this true or was this guy just some fool? Bill "66 squareback
