fenders instalation/red dash/reclining seats

First of all I haven't been into VWs that long and the reason im writing is
to ask if anyone can tell me how easy it is to install both the front and
rear fenders on a '66 squareback. I hear they are bolt on and its a piece of
cake. 
I've also been reading a lot about red dashes, I have one and underneath it
has a VW symbol witch I THINK is proof. 
The last thing I was wondering about was the fact that I have red reclining
seats that are original. The same person that told me about the fenders also
said that the only way those were available in '66 was through a VW dealer
and I should take good care of them because im one of the fortunate few. Is
this true or was this guy just some fool?
