I contacted a VW nut in Greece about odd Type-III powered vehicles.
Here is part of his reply:

Just when you think you've heard it all, you find out that there's
a 3-wheeled vehicle powered by a Type III engine. (I'm on top of this,
trying to find out more info. Any of you have leads?)
He also added this little gem:

Am I jealous? YES! :) Is anybody familiar with early 1500's? I
have heard that with the early T34, there is only a weak correlation
between VIN number and exact production date.
