I have a handful of them and always keep them on my cars, but have yet to be able to tell the difference with and without. 66-71.9 used VW 311-615-269 71.9-73 (large pads, dual bleeder valves) used VW 411-615-269 These are part of the kit if you buy GENUINE VW pads from the dealer. I also find that they are often avaliable at places that sell foreign car parts/service. Take your old pieces with you to match up with. Note that even if the rivet that holds the two straps together has rusted out, you can still install the two parts, and they will still function normally. There are TWO of these per car and I have never bought a set of pads that came with them.
