I invested about $100-$200 in each car and from 2 days to a whole month in labor (not counting the brain busting time). Its not that hard if you have a basic understanding of DC circuits and decide from the start exactly how you want to do it. Try reading Automotive Electrical Handbook by Jim Horner (HP Books). It has a lot of good info in it including converting from 6V to 12V. The illistrations include a lot of VW stuff. If you decide to do it and need any help/advice let me know, I actually enjoy this elecrical stuff :) Its a very rewarding project so have fun and good luck!
